This is my first time renting out my (NJ) condo apartment. Is there any advice for first time landlords, such as items to add to a typical lease agreement and things to do to protect myself.

Hi,
You came to the right web site. I have found so much more useful info on this site than any of the others. I mean real nitty gritty useful. Not the generic stuff.
I'd suggest reading the descriptions about the forms, especially the lease and application. You can find those on the Essential forms page. I personally also like the "Landlord tips".
The best advice I can give youis to rent your condo after screening your tenant very carefully. AND using one of the leases from this site. Good luck. Rocco
