Hi Sharon, If he is scaring you and acting inappropriately, it may be a good idea to speak with a) the police and b) a lawyer. You could have reason to get a restraining order against him if you truly believe he may try to hurt you. Otherwise, let him know that a judgement of eviction will damage his credit report and you are prepared to go that route even if it takes till August. Good luck. The problem is, he is living here, I gave him 30 days notice and he said no, he's not leaving, evict me - it will take you until Aug (I'm in Phila). He is getting scary - slamming doors, brushing past me too closely and throwing things in his room. I am actually kinda scared and asked my brother to stay for a bit. Is there anything I can do? I live here and want him out asap. >> >> >> >>Sharon >> >> >> >> >> >>L Russell on 8/29/101 7:28 PM said: >> >> >> >>>>I am on the lease of a duplex apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Since she's a subletter in an apartment I still reside in, are laws usually different? We do not have a formal contract and she is not on the apartment lease so I'd like to switch the locks. If I can't do this, how long does an eviction notice usually take? I don't have the money to fund her staying on if she refuses to pay rent. >> >>>> >> >>>> >> >>>> >> >>>>L Russell >> >>>> >> >>>> >> >>>> >> >> >>
