rights of owner/occupied duplex in Wisconsin by David Drake on June 19, 2002 @23:37

I just purchased a duplex, live on one side, and have tenants on the other side with a year lease that was already in existance. The renters are telling me I can't do any landscaping, spraying for weed control, and I can't put a storage building on their side of the lot. Also, we have two dogs which they don't want on their side of the lot. If I clean up after the dogs, what are my legal rights? If there was a lease that was in existance from the previous owner effective June 1 (but I took ownership on June 1), am I able to increase the rent or make any changes to the lease and if so, how many days notice do I have to give them?
