Boyfriend leaving me holding the bag by Heather (CA) on October 31, 2009 @15:37
I moved in w my boyfriend a year ago. We have no rental agreement. I pay for all the groceries and things for the house. He said he would support me through school. We've been fighting alot & yesterday he gave me a 30 day notice to vacate. Can he do that just because he's mad? What are my rights? What are his? I dont know what to do.

Sorry to say, but if he has the lease and you don't, yes he can give you a 30-day notice to leave.

Yes he can. He really sounds like a winner, so I would leave him and NEVER look back.

My daughters name is Heather, she moved in with her boyfriend in August clean across the world. I almost got excited reading your post, I was about to call her and fly her back home.

The 30 day notice is his legal right to have you move out because it sounds like you have a verbal lease. You're right is that you have 30 days to move your things out of the house, unless you want to start things out with having an eviction on your record, and then you will have problems renting in your future.
