It depends on what your lease agreement says. Mine is written so that if the tenant wants to move someone in the person has to be screened-application, background check (criminal and credit), be accepted, and added onto the lease. If this is a requirement in your lease, your LL can evict you for violation of the lease. You should talk to your LL about it, if your LL does not want to do that, start looking for a new place so you can move at the end of your lease.

Sorry, I skimmed over the no lease part. Talk to the LL and go from there and see what he/she says.
