what hard work.. the tenant pays your bills on homes that cost 100k.. that is peanuts to where i live where homes go for 400k and way up where taxes can be 8k- and way up.. so dont tell me. if i lived where you live i would have a block of houses i own...

being a LL is not hard work at all.. bashing tenants is shamefull since its tenants you need to pay for your homes

as for homes on craigslist i seen plenty from this site since you all post that card for pre-screening stuff. what a joke... if you are all such great LL why post problems on this site. you are such a pro you dont need advice. do it yourself since its your hard work.. LOL

Good luck with the next PITA you get

And why are the rentals pieces of s*^+ as you put it?

Because tenants with the attitude that the LL can take care of tenants damage, garbage and filth. Tenants who trash property then move on to the next unsuspecting LL. Courts that protect the lazy deadbeats & not the HARDWORKING LL's, that's why!

Our business is Hard Work, foreign concept to some tenants. Hard physically some of the time but Hard mentally all of the time.

We do depend on the tenants, that is what our business is based on. But what you seem to forget is tenants get something in return for the rent they pay. A roof over their heads.

LL's are not stealing their money. Tenants come to a LL, look at the property agree to certain terms (the lease or rental contract) then more often then not they want to alter the agreement (pay late, pay in bits & pieces, extra animals, damage etc.) or flat our disregard the agreement all together.

I always find it interesting when tenants post here. They never seem to get the answers they want to hear. And almost always go away mad. This is a business for us not a charity service. We don't owe the tenants anything more then what the leases or rental agreements they sign have stated. And as far as respect goes. You get what you give. When tenants show me and my property respect they get respect but when they don't then they are added to the pile of deadbeats that are out there.

So I'm not suggesting you go away mad but you might consider just going away!

i will never go away. i am not like most tenants i treat my rental like its my home. i painted with the LL permission and did a better job than he did and he ever said that. i fixed the bathroom when he was away and he couldnt thank me enough. i have been his longest tenant to date. i know the laws. if i dont something i search for it.

when tenants post here they deserve a answer not just move as a annswer. i mean come on. i agree some tenants are asses and deserve what they get but some of us need real answer since sometime LL's do shady things..

I'm sorry; did I miss your question? What I read was you assuming by reading the post that the LL had done something wrong because the Judge ruled against her.

But ok let's be fair, you as a tenant assume the LL is wrong based on your point of view, as a tenant. I on the other hand, assume the tenant got away with something based on my experience as a LL.

Aside from the first hand experience I have as a LL (as if that wasn't enough!)another reason I assume the things I do is the posts we get here from tenants. Right now we have a woman asking other LL’s how to get a couple free months of rent out of her LL, so she can save up to move one day. The sad part about that is, the right judge, the right sob story, maybe not bathing for a day or two before going to court & her & her brood just might get the free time she is seeking. Sad but true. I am hoping she is in a state that is more LL friendly then mine is.

What hard work? I wont even go there, go ahead and buy a rental and see for yourself. Until then, put a cork in it.

You don't even own a home, much less what you think you could own here or anywhere.

Great Landlords have problems because of losers causing them. You really have no clue, do you?

You have a problem with differentiating between paying rent for a home to live in with no responsibility for the upkeep and maintanance, and "making your landlords mortgage payment". While the mortgage gets paid, we still pay taxes and insurance and maintanance. Who pays the mortgage, taxes and insurance for every month the house sits vacant? Not you!! There is about a 10-20% vacancy factor that along with new carpet, paint and every other thing that has to be constantly replaced because of excessive tenant abuse. Your rent doesn't even cover the mortgage payment.

I have had just about every kind of PITA tenant that ever exists, so I am well preparred to deal with them swiftly. You are mad, because more landlords are getting wise to things and not easily manipulated anymore and this site has a great deal to do with that. Otherwise you wouldn't be lurking around here wondering what we talk about and, again, just like a tenant trying to cause problems.

You are IGNORANT and have NO IDEA what you are talking about. I am a LL and was once a tenant. A GOOD tenant, I might add...
I do not oppose tenants coming here for advice about a bad LL (yes, there are some out there). I DO NOT appreciate tenants asking how to screw their LL, or tenants badmouthing LL's here. If you are unhappy with the atmosphere remember THIS IS A LANDLORD SITE. TOUGH CRAP FOR YOU!!!!! Tenants DO NOT pay my mortgage. Tenants can barely take care of themselves, because if they were capable of any kind of HARD WORK or AMBITION, they would OWN THEIR OWN HOUSE. You say the LL takes care of upkeep? Buy a condo, grass is cut, snow is shoveled...all the owner has to do is not wreck anything and there will not be a ton of upkeep. Tenants do more damage to a place in a few months than my family has in the whole 12 years we've owned our home! Tenants are MOSTLY lazy, disgusting, ignorant, destructive, baby-making, excuse-giving people who can't find their a$$ with both hands. The only GREAT tenants I've had are the ones that had the ambition to save up to eventually buy their OWN HOMES. Renters don't usually possess the brains to have a good enough job to ever own a home, have crappy credit, cannot manage finances, and prefer to let others "deal with problems " for them, since they are helpless and mentally deficient. " I broke it, but you gotta fix it" WAAAAAAAAA. From the sweat of MY back, and money out of MY pocket, sacrifice, and three years of renovations, I have a lovely, QUALITY duplex to offer to tenants. They did not live in this place during renovations, in the middle of a construction zone. I don't thank tenants for providing me with anything. I can pay my mortgage taxes & expenses WITHOUT tenants. Back at ya. And if you had any GUTS, you would not hide behind ANONYMOUS. And.......MY NAME IS SUSAN

I guess you are young, still live at home with mommy? Your grammer and spelling is equivalent to a 3rd grader.

You read my BS comments everyday? lol, You really are mad. I am honored to be a part of a community of landlords that help others grow a backbone in dealing with deadbeats like you. No more manipulating and bullying your landlord, it doesn't work with us. Makes you mad doesn't it?

I don't expect tenant readers here to like me, I don't care. Your opinion, once again means nothing. I mean, really, you speak like a snot nose kid. Go to school.
