If you are M2M, not lease, you should look at your rental agreement -- mine says anyone stay 3 of 7 days or 7 of 30 is considered an occupant and additional occupants are $100 per month extra. What possible reason could you have for not running this past your LL? If your rental agreement names you as the occupant and no one else, then no one else is allowed without approval. And the action he can take is to post a cure or quit (usually 3-10 days, but check for your state) and then evict, or he can give you a 30-day notice to terminate the rental. Not good options. If this guy has all those good qualities going for him, why does he need to shack up with you for the short term?

The BF may be clean, quiet, and have a stable job. But the poster says,

"There are reasons I didn't want to ask the landlord."

That alone says volumes. What is the problem with him? Criminal records? Sex offender? If he was so clean, quiet, and stable, there wouldn't be a problem.
