Application Fee by Anonymous on November 4, 2009 @15:48
If an LL has two adults, as perspective tenants applying for your rental, not married, a Man, a Woman who both want to be on the Lease, should a LL ask for an application fee from both to do a background/credit check for both people(for both names)?

If you have two persons to check, whether married or not, then yes, it is reasonable to collect 2 application fees. Why would that be different if they were married? You still have to run 2 credit checks and 2 background checks.

Are you talking about an application fee or the cost of a credit check?

Hi, Yes I am talking about the cost of the credit/background check fees. Is this normally called another type of fee when perspective tenants are applying for the rental?

2 seperate application fees. You will have to run 2 seperate background/credit checks for them.

Let me get this in perspective...

The man prospect and the woman prospect are unrelated/
So they should each pay their own fee since you will need to run a credit check on each of them.
