If you gave them a pay or quit, then they owe you until the day you said they must be out. But if they move after that date then you can charge them per day.

If you have no intention to rerent the property you can not charge them for the remainder of the lease. You must prove you tried to rerent it with ads etc.

You can sue them for the rent they owe but it might not be worth the effort. You might want to do it to teach them a lesson, you can not shurk your obligations.

thanks for your advice - they would have paid if the husband didn't get layed off, but they were trying to live in the castle with a tent's salary. But are decent enough to vacate the property. Saves me a hassle.
