You "occassionally" cleaned the place and when you did youd't use the proper cleaning products. You'd be pissed if someone used SOS pads on your car at the carwash... Not all cleaners are created equal. You don't use furniture pollish on a toilet and you don't use windex on the diningroom table.

She was the one who used the cleaner on the tub, while we were gone. She came up to do something else and saw the soap residue on the tub and cleaned it herself. I have no idea what product she used on it, except that she told us she had to scrub so much, it lost its shine. She complained that the soap was dropping down onto the tub. But she put up the "over the nozzle" soap and shampoo holder. She put it up, but then complained when we used it. Also, the tub was not used for soaking, only for showers. We used a squeege on the the glass doors as she asked, but didn't wipe down the shower after using it. How many of you wipe down the tub or enclosure after you've showered? Is that customary care a tenant should be doing?

I clean my shower once a week along with the rest of my bathroom. I also wash my hands after I go to the toilet... lol

Hope you are not going to the toilet in the tub. Most people just use the spray in the shower and scrub it periodically.

Pretty much ignore everything she has said. Take her to court if she keeps your security deposit. You don't have to scrub down the bath after every use, the way you have used it is pretty clearly wear and tear. Also, landlords can expect to have to refinish (at least screen and recoat) a wood floor every couple of years. The way you have used it is normal wear and tear. Swiffer is fine for cleaning wood floors. Landlords like your are the reason why California has so many pro-tenant laws.

The security deposit hasn't even been discussed as she is indicating that we bear the responsibility of restoring the shine on the tub and refinishing the wood floor. I had thought the security deposit was all but lost...
