Home Depot is fine if you need to install a new ______ (fill in the blank.) But they don't do repairs for the average job. They won't come in and replace the lockset on the bedroom door that's broken, fix the plumbing under the sink, etc. You need a contractor to do these things. Call a local LL association or REIA and ask who they refer people to.

Exactley! Be your own contractor and get bids...the Depot can tell you how to install the locks etc. and have the how~to videos..

Unfortunately, not all people are mechanically inclined and able to do repairs. Everyone should be able to handle locks since they take only 4 screws, but other items may be too complex for the owner. If they are, contact a LL association to get a referral to a good contractor.
