Time share in country by J.J. in Texas (Texas) on July 31, 2010 @16:31
Forgive me everyone. But I am a long time reader and don't know what to do. I don't know who to turn to got ripped off already with Realtors, just thought some of you might
have a minute to give me some advice. Plzzzzzzzzzzeeese
Bought this time share thing approximately 15 years ago
and was a good thing at the time. but with economy and
hotels.com and some of the other sites for vacations
no one is interested. Tried Realtor she stank just wanted
more and more money and didn't get any results. Tried giving it back they are giving me the run around did everything they asked sent all paperwork back notarized and everything, they just stall. This last time they said they are going to force me into foreclosure, I said they could have it but worry about my credit ( p.s. I don't want any money just get rid of it)

Does anyone have any advice????

Whatever you do, you will have to honor your contract and pay all the money your owe.

Did you have a landlord question? Really sorry but this site is not a real estate nor time share site.

Have you tried to sell it yourself cheap? Don't waste your time with realtors as timeshares is not their specialty. Also do not deal with so called realty companies who claim they will sell it for a fee, they are all a scam.

There is only one way to market timeshare and that is why there is really only one way they sells short of an owner advertizing it on Craigslist, etc., cheap to unload it.

Where is the timeshare, the name of the resort/condo, How many bedrooms? Fixed or floating week? Is it affiliated with RCI. What type of deed, is it for so many years or is it deeded the same as real property that can be willed to your children? How many week(s) out of each year, or is ownership every other year? etc., What color is the week pertaining to in/out of season? Does it trade by points or weeks? How much are your maintenance fees and are you currently being assessed an assessment fee for improvements, etc., How long have you owned it? How much are you willing to sell it for?

Tell them to put it in foreclosure. Your credit will take a hit, but time and paying your other bills on time, as well as keeping your credit cards paid off will lessen the blemish.
Selling it yourself means giving it away, and possibly paying the closing costs to give it away in this economic climate. Not a choice, an act of desperation IMHO. Lots of us are stuck with timeshares, it's not just you.

Try Timeshares only, their number is 1-800-880-1323. I found their ad in my entertainment book with a 10% discount on services when you mention the coupon code ENT2010. Timeshares only claims to connect timeshare buyer, sellers and renters worldwide. Use CAUTION if they charge a fee up front.

Otherwise I am interested if your timeshare is at San Luis in Galveston.
