I just had this happen to me. When the fire department came to do their annual rental license renewal inspection they failed my property because she had the kids sleeping in a walk-in closet and her bed was on the 3rd floor unfinished unheated attic.

They were told to correct it and I had to pay $100 for a reinspection later that month. It also failed for "trash & debris" which was the tenants personal property all over the back yard.

You have subpar tenants. How many bedrooms does it legally have? How many did they set it up as? You probably have too many people for the living space.
