What are the reasons they want to live at your place? Or reasons why they do not want to live where he works? They may override the commute. Don't let your reasons why you would not rent if you were them become their reasons. If they are solid renters, do it. The wife may work close. The kids may not want to change schools. Too expensive to live near work. They may be retiring anyway soon. Lots of reasons. Odds are, they might think about it more and bail anyway.

I did ask them today and reasons were understandable.....better schools, want to be in the country, work hours that allow the drive during off commute times. This is in Atlanta area and commutes here are a real hassle. I will continue with the other nuts and bolts of the review of the applications. Need to pull credit, verify salary, etc. I am not sure they make it on salary.....number put on the application is $1400 but doesn't say if that is montly/weekly or what. Thanks for the information.

No person is going to put in an 8 hour day plus lunch and then add to that day with a 2 to 4 hour commute because his kids can go to a better school. Dig a little deeper and find your own reasons.

I disagree. Commutes that long are par for the course in some cities with crap schools. I know lots of people in the SF bay area that have an hour commute. We here in Ohio entertained moving to the country for better schools and that would make for an hour long commute for my husband.
