Forget all that stuff about talking to detectives. Follow an eviction process to the letter of the law. Get a lawyer that does evicitions if you need help the first time.....be careful and dont take the first lawyer you find in the phone book. Do not take a lawyer that does any criminal work because they will let all civil matters wait (they will be too busy in court defending criminals - they will take your money).

Check with your state and find out how to also sue for the back rent. Sometimes it can be done at the eviction hearing but sometimes you need to sue in small claims. Begin it all now.....even if you never get this money you will trash their credit and it will hard for them to rent.

Get the eviction from the court and let the marshal put their sorry asses out on the street.

Never wait this long. One week late then start paperwork next time.
