Boy, you-all really missed the point of Xeriscaping (except for the OP). This type of landscaping drastically REDUCES the need for weeding, watering, mowing, etc. and is the PERFECT solution for a SFH rental. Have any of you ever visited a residential neighborhood in Phoenix? Those yards use low water trees, shrubs and native grasses and rock and make the yards look great. Since Colorado is not as drastic as Arizona, you can have more leeway in what you plant but the concept is the same. My Xeriscaped SFH in Texas requires only that the trees and shrubs be watered once a month. I only need to weed between tenants, yearly. If they stay longer I weed when needed, yearly.
