Your state requires a 7 day Pay or quit notice. This notice should include:
› Address or rental property description;
› Reason for the eviction;
› Time to take remedial action;
› Date; and
› Landlord’s signature.

You can deliver this notice directly to the tenant or send the notice certified with a return receipt. I would nail and mail.

This is your first step and in doing so I hope you receive your rent before the 7 days are over. If not you need to proceed to court. Since you have no experience in this I would go your court now and watch what happens to learn. While there, maybe find a lawyer who does evictions for a flat fee and specializes in evictions.
