Ok, try talking to her, and explaining that it takes 4 days to fix the tub. Yes I added a day. It'll take a day to get it sprayed, and 3 to cure. It may not be as bad as you think.
By the way, it takes 1 day to replace a tub. It may be slightly more expensive, but it also wont peel again.

No it doesn't. Tubs have a metal lip that goes under the tiles so you'll be replacing the bottom row of tiles as well and the tiles have to set before you can grout and then the grout has to dry. Takes as long (or longer) as refinishing and unless you're handy at plumbing, caulking, tiling, and hauling a tub by yourself, it's probably more expensive too.
