Your best bet is to ask your landlord, or who you rented from. They may be kind, and you can come to a monetary agreement with them.
Breaking a lease can land you in small claims court. And the court does not look kindly on those that do not fulfill the lease agreement. A notice to pay or quit is the precursor to eviction. You don't need an eviction on your record. And it is not pleasant having to show up for small claims court. The repercussions can be really negative, and affect you for quite some time.
