The landlord has no obligation to remove anyone from the lease until the lease expires. Even if the tenants divorce, it does not affect the terms of the lease. All tenants are bound by the lease terms until the lease ends.

That is the simplest and easy way to manage tenants.

How about deadth?

How about employment transfer, or property disaster?

This guy is not dead, he is not changing his employment nor is there a property disaster. He is asking for the landlord to referee his domestic troubles and help him avoid his financial obligations. He wants to pass off a part of his financial hardship onto the landlord who already has the unauthorized squatter mother-in-law. He also seems to have no concern for his dependents.
