As a LL you need not do anything but as a human being I would probably try to contact his mother. I would also give him the suicide hotline #. I would not necessarily encourage him to express his feelings to you, that is nothing you need to get involved with. Remember though that whatever he does is his responsibility and not anything for you to feel guilty about should he commit suicide.
