Checking that they are still employeed at the same place and still making what they said. Also I believe the roomate may have finished school and started working. In that case I would like to have the employeer information.

Seens a good idea unless it is rocking the boat.

As long as the rent is being paid, it would probably be enough to verify incomes and employers at renewal time.
