apparently received an eviction notice by Riyaz (PA) on March 1, 2012 @17:35

I apparently received an eviction notice today. I paid rent in January…I spoke to the landlord this past Monday and stated that rent for February and March would be paid by next week. There were circumstance that I couldn’t pay the rent that he is aware of. I just purchased a house and will be moving out by the 17th of March The court date for eviction is 7 of march. Should I go to court? Pay the rent? The landlord is extremely rude over the phone and in person. The downstairs tenants even know my business from the land lord…I purchased a house for investment reasons and also because the downstairs tenants are drug addicts and I have a child younger than one year.

Get this taken care of right now

Your closing on March 17th can and will be cancelled by the bank if you have an eviction suddenly showing up

The bank will do a last minute background/credit check on you..and this will come up.

You need to get this taken care of right now...I mean now.
Whatever you have to do to get the money and pay your Landlord..you need to do it NOW. You cannot wait until court, you cannot wait until next week... You are at risk for being put on the street and losing the house you want to buy

Pay the rent it is still your responsibility even if the LL is rude. Why do renters think that because a LL is rude or not to their liking they can just skip paying the rent. Even if the LL is aware of your circumstances regarding not paying the rent that is not the LL's problem he still needs to pay his bills. Pay the rent and avoid going to court. If you don't pay up he may be able to file a lien against your new house for the money you owe him.

"There were circumstance that I couldn’t pay the rent that he is aware of.

Why should the LL care? Why should your problems become his?

"Should I go to court?"

Unless you want to lose by default, yes.

"Pay the rent?"

Unless you want to lose, yes.

The remainder is irrelevant.
