72 hour notice

I rented a room in my home. I have given her 72 hour notice because she hasn’t paid. Is it the same process for someone in my home to evict? She moved in October. She never signed the lease agreement said she wanted someone to peruse it, then she forgot and left it some where. I live in Alameda County and want the lady out of my home. Thank you.

I have never heard of a 72 hour notice applying to tenants in a residential rental. Where did you get that? You will have to provide a 30 day notice at least. But wait for a California speciic landlord to respond here for the most accurate opinion.

It appears the you gave a 3 day quit (72hours). You did not follow proper procedure. Must be a 3 day Pay or Quit followed by Eviction Procedure.
