You're kidding, right?

You established that you were a tenant by the fact that you paid rent. You cannot arbitrarily decide to not pay rent because you need money to move out. That's ridiculous, since you are still living there...if you live there, you pay rent.

Having no formal lease agreement just means nothing is in writing. Instead, what you have is a tacit month to month rental agreement.

Yes, I think the landlord will win and win BIG in court. Do whatever you have to do to make this right, or it will follow you all the days of your life and your life will be changed for the worse in ways you cannot even fathom now.

    no no it is these are the days of your life and like sand through the hour glass your life will change beyond your comprehension when you do not PAY YOUR RENT.

    If you get a judgement for not paying your rent on your record any intelligent landlord with a nice place to rent will not have you. That is how the sand falls I think.
