Re: Tenant of 10 days charging me

The plumber was required for roots in the main drain. I accept this as my responsibility, my issue with it is I bought all the plumbing tools to take care of this. Had he called me like he was suppose to, I would have taken care of it (faster than most plumbers get there). He was informed when he moved in to always call me if there's a problem. I do occasionally call a plumber to handle it, and it cost $60. I would agree to pay that, but his guy refuses to even tell me how much it costs. And he claims the guy who rented the place to him (my brother in law, who was NOT authorized to rent it!) claimed he would be reimbursed, though my brother in law said he told him 'if you need them, we can get you them.' and of course, nothing is in writing about getting them.

"I bought all the plumbing tools to take care of this." Why did you not take care of this before the tenant moved in as you say, you had all the tools? You knew of the problem and did nothing until tenant took action to solve you problem! (my brother in law, who was NOT authorized to rent it!) Who signed the lease for this tenant? Your brother in law was acting as your agent it seems in renting the place, as he had access to show it to tenant. You are slow in responding to repairs and have no control over your property as your brother in law has access to rent it. Where do you fit in this picture?
