I send 1099 to all the contractors that exceed 500 per year.
They pay their own taxes... How they handle their taxes is up to them, I am simply declaring the money as expenses paid.
My accountant handles all the back end details..but..I assure you I don't pay the taxes for the plumber, maintenance guys, etc....or lawn care folks.
