We're all dying, whether fast or slow. That's life. At 87, your children should be taking care of you, not the other way around. Your children should be well past "hard times" in their lives and well on the way to their own retirement. They should no longer look to you for a bed and 3 square meals a day. Your grandson with the drug problem will always bring problems to his home, whether you see it or not. No one wants to live near criminal activity, which is exactly what drug use is. If you put him on the street, he will have to figure out how to help himself and grow up; that's a good thing. You won't be around forever to tidy up after him, so letting him grow up is inevitable, now or later. Sooner is better, for his sake. When a LL rents their hard-earned property out, they want to know who is living in it and how they will treat it. When you allow various and sundry unidentified "relatives" to shack up at your rental for free, they will treat it like it's free, meaning most folks place no value on anything given to them. That's what the LL wants to avoid. And your neighbors didn't sign up to live in an overcrowed property just because you want a gang of your n'er-do-well relatives to camp out with you at your place. Play by the LL's rules and you'll have a nice, peaceful existence until you don't.

"I am slowly dying and this stress and depression is unbearable."

Chin up, according to you it's almost over!
