You've been renting a room for only one month and you already find a number of things you don't like. Your LL is culturally diverse from you and thinks nothing of flaunting the law and stealing cable service. Doesn't sound like this situation will get any better. You are on a verbal M2M agreement -- give your 30-day notice today and move on April 11 (I believe CA is a literal notice state, meaning you count the notice days from the date of the notice, not from the rent due date).
