The first time I had to evict someone, I printed a 3 day notice off of the internet as well. Even though it claimed to be legit for the particular state you were in, I found out that I had to use one provided by the courts in which the eviction hearing would take place. The form was free. The tenant seemed to know this as she did not respond until the official one was posted on the front door.
