If you did not sign the contract there is not contract!

Duh!

If your lease is a term lease then it ends per your contract. Whether your tenant gives notice or not the contract term end date is still valid.

Double duh!

Not always, some states have statutes the term automatically becomes a M2M if the T reamins, the LL accepts rent, and there is no lease renewal.

Some states leave this to the terms of the lease.

Other states, I believe Mo. is one, say that unless a new lease is signed you are legally required to vacate by the end of the term.
