NO, you got that backward.

If you use "address service requested"..you get your envelope back...

Otherwise you get a notice back...but your envelope goes to the new address.

Katiekate, just to clarify, I used the "address service requested" placed where instructed by the USPS.com website a couple of months ago; the mail was forwarded to the recipient and a postcard was sent to me showing the forwarding address. It took 3-4 weeks for the postcard to be received by me.
