Section 24.005(a) of the Texas property code requires at least a 3 day notice to be served to the tenant before filing an eviction suit, unless your contract states a longer or shorter period. I send out the notice the day after rent is due. In my case, rent is due on the first, so I send the notice on the second day certified with a return reciept and I post it on their door as well.
