It's funny how tenants often think they can avoid eviction, etc. by not being available when the landlord shows up or calls. I don't know the laws of Texas but most states allow you to post the notice in a conspicuous place after you've attempted (and failed) at personal delivery. Check your statutes for how many times you have to try first...but it sounds like you already have.

Post 24 hours notice for inspection. using any excuse that you think they abandoned the place. come in and see if they still there or things still there? if nothing there, change the lock. If yes, start filing. Call and text and let them know you are filing to evict them.
