Jake, you don't appear to speak from experinece. You speak from your emotions. How many units do you rent out on the average month?

I have yet to see a landlord with a number of units that was not some kind of a crook with a really humorless personality. Rental property is not my main way of making money and my rentals are paid for. So, I do not have to engage in the mean, petty business of milking the tenant for every cent that is legally possible without any regard for what is right to do. I also realize that pettyness cost a landlord and fair play yields so many benefits. You are right that I do not speak of my experience. As a result of fair play and a rejection of mean, petty practices, I do not have an accumulation of horror stories to relate. And, I am not getting on the internet and telling all my personal business like you and so many others are so willing to do. I am not broke, hardened to life and without humor. So, yeah, maybe I am not a "real" landlord.
