To the broker, you are also a stranger. You have a relationship with the realty agent who is supervised by the broker. It's his job to mediate problems and he did so by telling to agent to double-check with you that you don't want to rent. I don't see the big deal. He's not responsible for the crazy woman and her expectations, he didn't generate them. Let it roll off your back and move on.

He should have believed his own agent over this woman. He did not have to tell his agent to call us when we had already told her 4 days prior we are not renting. He should not have believed some stranger off the street when we have been his clients for last 9 1/2 months. He should have told this woman we are not renting that she is mistaken and asked her to leave his building. He should not have put all of us thru this crap because of some crazy woman. We just want to sell. We want calls that someone wants to look at the house not that some crazed woman is in his office demanding to rent our home. Easier said than done to let it roll off your back. We don't need these kind of calls.

I'd have thought it a stressless & simple matter to simply respond, "No, we still don't want to rent; thanks for checking." And hang up the phone. Remember, a realtor is supposed to bring ALL offers to you, it's part of their professional responsibility.
