Eviction Proceeding in the Works by Victoria on March 27, 2012 @06:20

I am currently in the process of evicting my tenants for non payment of rent and their assumming the security deposit would pay the last months rent of their lease without speaking with me. I have an attorney for the eviction date. Is it necessary for me, the landlord to appear in court with my attorney? I have all written correspondence to the tenant that I sent. Would it benefit me to appear with my attorney with all my documentation? I have been told that I do not have to be there.
I live in the City of Glen Cove, NY where the eviction proceeding will occurr.
Thanks
V

Your attorney is supposed to represent you, so probably not. However, it would be a good idea, that way you can learn the procedures.
