You can find all the things you are looking for in a higher rent unit. Housing is like everything else. You have to pay more for better quality. The landlord is not going to fulfill your wish list. If you start with holding rent because a screen is nailed on and the grout is dirty you are looking for big trouble. You will be evicted and your credit record will carry this mark for life. Yes, for life. If you make good money and have good credit, stop looking at the lower end of the housing market.
