Re: how much should i worry about vacancy security? by Jimbo (CA) on March 28, 2012 @18:29

They asked me when I first got policy about how long it would be vacant. I told them my goal was 2 weeks of fixup then rented within 30 days of that. Verbally agreed to that on phone but did state that they really don;t like it vacant at all (obviously).

FWIW I've ordered a monitored alarm system which should be in place within the next 2 days so at least I can sleep a bit easier. I found a system that does not requite a phone (uses cell towers) and also does not require a multi-year contract. I can leave it in place for future T (with signed alarm amendment to lease) or disable and remove easily if they don't want to soak up the monitoring costs.

Once I have that up and working I'll be posting a 'for rent' sign in front.
