He is a good renter, pays on time and is clean so not sure what there is to think about. You can change the lease to reflect the change and make any late fees to start on the 16th. Unless you need all the money up front on the first I would take this over someone I don't know. I would make sure though that he realizes that if for some reason he is late even once after the 15th that it reverts back to payment in full by the first (I would add this to t he lease.
