Well.........the answer is depends.......not many people pay of a house anymore. If you have the cash to buy a house you need to do some analysis to figure out if you are better off with it in the bank or buy a place outright.

Lot's of opinions on this one but in the end you need to run the numbers and consider the emotional issues surrounding the decision (location, sentimentality, etc.)
