Google "2009 Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure" and read the act Obama put in place to discover how your lease will be treated in the foreclosure. Typically, as long as you pay your rent to the landlord (who continues to own the property until it is sold at auction), you can remain through the full length of your lease. If you are M2M, you will receive either a 60 or 90 day notice to terminate your tenancy AFTER the auction.

And when the ownership changes (to the bank or whoever) you will need to continue paying the rent to whoever that new owner is.
