You can try going to legal aid but by the time you get anything done legally the work will be done. Like other poster said don't wear expensive shoes in the mud. On the bright side when they are done the outside of your place should look nice. Ask when it will be done. Unless they are not abiding by your noise ordinance for your city I doubt there is anything you can do. Just like if someone decides to build a house next to you, you have to put up with the noise, it's part of life. Sounds like you let things get to you too easily. Just try to relax and it should be over soon and you will have a lovely outdoor area. At least they are fixing things up and not letting it go to pot.

First,I did not realize when I posted my question that this is a forum for LANDLORDS....I wounld not have bothered if I had. Of course you're going to say I should just relax and hope for a better day. You aren't tenants!!
However, I do feel compelled to respond to a few of the more ill-thought out comments.
RE: Not wearing good shoes in the mud..I was dressed for a doctors appointment and the dog had to go out...Besides not everyone has the money to go buy throw away shoes. I am disabled, on disability and all of my money goes to food, rent and bills. If I had money I would MOVE!

The guys doing the work don't speak English. The work was supposed to take 2 weeks per the landlord; it has taken 6 and they are nowhere near done. The landlord went with a "once size fits all" company to do all of the work that needed to be done to save $$. (That is per the manager, not my opinion) These guys are in way over their heads, cannot get the job done properly and I have doubts as to whether it will ever be back to normal out there.
Finally, "relax and take stress vitamins" it is about the most useless and arrogant bit of advice I've ever received. If I could, I would. Intolerable is a real word...Look it up

The person who recommended I get a lawyer is right.
