Co tennant moves out

I was renting a house with two other people. We each agreed to pay a 1/3 of everything. We don't have a lease because the LL is my father. One tennant soposovly moved out with just the clothes on their back. I receive an email 2 weeks after rhe tennant moved out from my LL wife stating that the tennant moved out and you and other tennant are going to have to cover his part of rent and utilities. The tennant that moved out hasn't been back to retrieve all of their stuff. The tennant also left a huge mess. Do I legally have to pay other tennants share? The LL never gave me a 30 day notice. I feel that a 30 day notice should have been given to me. What do I do??

The LL is your father. He can begin eviction proceedings against you, even without a formal lease or rental agreement.
Your dad's wife has an eye to the bottom line and has some business sense about her, although why they permitted anyone to rent without a formal agreement is something they will learn.
Legally, in the absence of a formal agreement, you could be found responsible for ALL THE RENT in court. Or maybe not.
You've been told about the rent without a formal notice. You're lucky because the next step IS a formal notice and you could be out on your @$$.
What do you do? Get another roommate who is acceptable to the PTB or make sure the full rent is paid. Ask for a formal lease or rental agreement. I'm sure with a little education, your dad and his wife will list occupants as jointly and severally responsible for the rent.
You're one step away from eviction proceedings.
Oh, and btw, clean up your roommate's mess that was left in the place.
You are free to go after your roommate in small claims court for that share of the rent.

What can you do? Pay the rent and move immediately. Forget about all the legal dancing. You are much to young to be starting life as a deadbeat with the permenant stamp of an eviction on your credit record. The sooner you learn to pay your freight the better.

All Ts are separately and severally liable for the rent. That means no notice is needed, it matters not who pays what amount, the total rent is due when it is due. The issues between roommates is not of any concern to the LL.
