Not at my house it isn't, and I bet you don't change out your home carpet every 5 years either!

The life of a very cheap, poor quality carpet that has been abused is around 5 years.

The carpet was new when he moved in. It is a good quality, nylon carpet. I expect to replace it when he leaves. He has not been easy on it. He had a nanny and a housekeeper at first, but he let them go due to the expense and hasn't cleaned anything since. I don't plan to charge him for carpet replacement.
