The wiring must be able to handle the load and the wiring must be rated for 90 degrees celcius to handle the heat generated from the fan/heater. Housing built before 1985 does not have the proper rated wiring (unless it was updated). This could be a great fire hadzard and a liability for the landlord. Your insurance might not cover such an installation. Also building codes might not approve either.
