I remember when are neighbors moved in and they had a constant flow of traffic,I told my daughter " they must be very nice people as they have a lot of friends ". She laughed and said " mom, they are dealing drugs" Sure enough they were. The thing is if they are, and if they are cooking meth, you could loose your home. I find it hard to believe they would do this though as they let you come and go as you please. Most dealers are very paranoid and I wouldnt think would do this, but they also do alot of things that dont make sense. DO you ever notice any abnormal smells when you are over there? Maybe pot or a strong amonia smell? I just dont think I would risk loosing my home over it.

No, there are no smells, The rooms are Tiny and I have visible access to everything except the bedrooms essentially. My basement is full of clothes and junk. I don't know how much room you would need to make meth but the rooms are not big at all. maybe 10x10 at the most give or take. so they are not making anything illegal. I never tell them when I am coming unless I am picking up payment and sometimes they are not home when I come. I like the neighbors, they are going through a rough time personally and I believe them about traffic, but Im not sure if it is being exxaggerated because how can you possibly watch someones house all day but I told them that if they feel they have no choice but to ccall the cops and the cops storm through the house and they find nothing they know it was you complaining and may file harrassment or racial intimidation.

Bottom line. I want all to be able to live peacefully and freely in the neighborhood. I advised tenants this is a personal residence and not a business. I said you have a right to visitors and guests but no more online trading or whatever it is your doing. I have no evidence of them selling drugs so as of today I have to take their story at face value. If they continue to bring "alot" of people over for short periods of time then I will seek eviction or termination of lease options.

    Most people don't move into a residential area expecting to encounter a high traffic volume. That's what commercial areas are for. My lease states that tenants may not operate a business which violates local zoning rules or brings a high number of people & cars to the neighborhood. That means no Amway parties on a regular basis, no hair cutting in your livingroom, no babysitting/daycare services, no selling products from the house, etc. Allowed businesses are any home-based business which has minimal personal interaction with clients at the rental, such as attorney, CPA, online selling/shipping (NOT coming to the house to "view" or pick up items. If your tenants are operating this "business" to the degree that the traffic & visitors are disturbing the neighborhood, code enforcement will be on it in no time and the homeowner will encur a fee. Tell your tenants to rent a storage locker and move their "inventory" there for folks to view.

      I agree 100% and will enforce that aspect but I don't think it is enough for me to accuse them of drug dealing. So if it doesnt stop they have been warned. We are in a residential area but my house is on a corner and on a thoroughfare, it is a main street that people cut through and stop often. I have room for about 6 cars on the street since I have front and side paths. It is a pita to shovel when it snows!
