29k isn't a significant amount of student loans. Why are you concerned about his age? Lots of people go to school at a later age.

I don't know, I'm worried if it comes down to paying his rent or his student loans he will choose the latter because defaulting will haunt him forever. So 29k seems like a lot.

And it seems that he could be unstable by just graduating at 38 years old, like he isn't focused in life and has made past mistakes. I think I will pass on him.

"And it seems that he could be unstable by just graduating at 38 years old, like he isn't focused in life and has made past mistakes."

That is a pretty uneducated attitude. There are tons of older students in school, for dozens of reasons. Career change, interest, etc.

You're right, this guy definitely shows how unfocused he is by working hard to graduate from college with a degree.

I'm always looking for people who've never made any mistakes for my rental because there's so many perfect folks out there.

Sounds like you're doing him a big favor by not being his next idiot LL

Of all the reasons to reject someone to me, this doesn't appear to be a good one. The guy made it thru college, IS paying off his loan and makes enough income. Give the guy a break! Very few people have perfect lives. And those who do are as annoying as all get out.
