Ask the last three landlords if the rent was paid on time, each time. Good things to say is kind of vague. How long has he held his current employment?
Consider him, by asking him what his student loan payment is going to be set up to be each month. Apply the math and see if his obligations allow enough for him to make his rental payment each month.
