Shocked at all the LL Haters on here these days!

Just a comment after reading some of the other posts. I have not been on this forum in a couple of years, and I am shocked at all the LL haters on this forum now. Wow!
Just to inform some of you LL haters:
1. I live in the same property I rent out to tenants.
2. I treat my tenants so good, I have provided free Internet when my tenant started having problems with her job and could no longer afford Internet. Her company was taken over by another that did not want to pay overtime and she had to terminate some services to try to catch up with more important things.
3. Last month my tenant’s phone service was terminated because of some quirk with our property. She had a safelink phone who claimed our property at the USPS database was listed as only one main address not separate apartments. So they turned off her phone which is the only one she had at the present. I was so enraged at how they treated her supposedly because of our property, I spent days on the phone with Safelink straightening the problem out, and I gave her a better phone I had just purchased for myself, it was a TracFone, just about brand new and I paid to add 600 minutes to it until they do turn her service back on.
4. This is a fairly good tenant, compared to all the monsters I have had in the past. But in the last year she has had problems with her job NOT paying her correctly or on time. I have even shared our food with her at times when she was in trouble. And when I screen for tenants, I pay for 2 different screening company services as well as checking them out myself. IMOP, it is the quality of tenants out there that could burn your house down and destroy anything they like before you can get them out, and you will never be able to get anything out of them once they are gone, that is out there these days. Even if you get a Judgment, good luck executing the judgement. They the tenants certainly have more rights than LL’s, and they do have it over any LL! Go to Court and see if they offer a LL a free attorney like they do tenants.
5. Despite the fact I do some really nice things for her the tenant, I do not befriend her. I keep most of the issues business.
We are not all bad or control freaks. In fact you should hear the other side of things. I live in my property as a single Mom and by myself take care of things. I have had tenants that upon NOT being able to pay the rent, destroyed the apartment, and at least 2 of them upon receiving Eviction Notices attacked me. One broke my arm, and another one brought car loads of people threatening my life, but when the police would come would make up stories that I did something to them when it was not true. One even pulled the gas pipes in the basement upon moving thinking because I live there, they would blow me and my multiply handicapped son up! Many of you tenants are heartless violent monsters. It is not really safe for any LL to live in their own property these days.

Because there are some horrid snooty LL using the forum. I am appauled at the uppity responses from some LL. Yes you are blessed that you are able to have homes to rent out, but if it werent for the renters that pay the rent for your homes you too could loose it all and become a lowly class renter ! I know the majority of the LL are like you, but some are really , well, jerks. I am thankful for this site and the help I have received by many, but am also so saddened that so many treat others as lower class citizens because they are renters. Really, where would you all be if every one owned there home. You would have to come down off your pedistals and no longer be able to look down on tenants.

I agree, I am a Landlord, but I am also a Tenant {I rent out my SFH and I rent the new place I am at since I moved out of state and did not have the money to purchase a new home at the time I moved} I feel no better or no less than my Landlords or my Tenants. In my opinion, there are SO many reasons to be a renter, it is not even reasonable to think of a Tenant as a lower "class" than you are, especially when they are paying rent on time, and keeping the place in great shape.

Tenants, and any person, who commit heinous crimes to intimidate people do so because they believe it comes without consequences. It is unfortunate that any human being (landlord or otherwise) would have to endure such violent or threatening behaviors. It has been my experience that when the immature, mean-spirited person experiences the consequence of their action, knowing that the landlord is not (or no longer intimidated) then the tenant will move on to a new victim.
These kind of people rarely, if ever, learn a lesson. These kind of spirits simply grow old and only have their past bad behaviors and poor judgments to reflect upon. Trust that this is not a pretty sight, as their entire being will be riddled with age beyond their years, a multitude of health conditions, as well as no one who cares for them. While the landlord may not realize it at the time of events, the threats and intimidation will make for a stronger, smarter landlord with the discernment to make better choices of tenant character.

A tenant can not cause a problem unless the landlord rents to them.
Many so called tenant problems are caused by uninformed landlords with no customer skills and little or no knownledge of landlord tenant laws. They do not know their lease or how to handle problems. They try to control everything the tenant does and then wonders why theres a conflict!
